How to prepare for your LBL session and what to expect

Preparation should be commenced well before the planned date of your LBL session. Therefore, if you have a date or time of the year in mind, it is best to contact your chosen therapist and start to make arrangements well in advance.

The most successful LBL sessions are experienced by clients who are familiar with hypnosis and who have experienced at least one Past Life Regression. Trancework at this level requires deep relaxation, the ability to allow the conscious mind to take a back seat, but still remain passively in the background to interpret the content of the LBL. The ability to concentrate for long periods of time is also a necessary skill that comes with practice. Meditation, yoga, energy work like Reiki, for example, are all preparations that will assist you if you already practice these disciplines or similar ones. If you feel that you have never been "hypnotised" before, then your therapist will insist that you have a session or two with a local hypnotherapist so that trance becomes familiar. You may be asked to practice with CDs. That is also a good way to prepare.

Past Life Regression is a part of the LBL process and so experiencing a PLR really assists clients to start to move easily and talk fluently while in a trance state. Another advantage is that a vivid PLR can be done and all the necessary healing done before the LBL session. In LBL work the past life is just a springboard into the between-life-state and so we do not, as a rule, want to spend hours there, we just want to get into the spirit world as quickly as possible without rushing you!

Do not plan to have your LBL when you are experiencing a time in your life of great physical or emotional stress. While it may seem to you that you want answers quickly and need them right now, you may find that your state of mind is not open to the process while you feel like this. Your therapist can recommend some healing hypnotherapy or perhaps other useful techniques to assist you over this difficult time and move you on to a place where your LBL journey can be planned.

Prepare your body by nurturing it well. A good breakfast is always to be recommended as there can be a long wait until the next meal, after your session. Rumbling tummies can be a distraction. Do not load up on caffeine or come with a hangover. It will not work well for you. Try to arrange your session so you are free from daily worries. Set your time and ensure your are not disturbed by the minutae of your daily life. That means turn your mobile off too!

You must send in advance your "mini CV" of your life, one page is usually enough, to give your therapist a potted history of your life so far to assist with gaining insight into your life and rapport with you before commencing the LBL session. Either send or bring along your "cast of characters" which would be the ten most influential (good and bad) souls from your life so far, together with a one line decription of them. Bring your "big" life questions too, the things you really want answered. Your therapist will give you guidance on how exactly they would like all this information and when. Just don't turn up empty handed. We need as much information as possible in a concise form.

If you live a fair distance away, explore staying overnight in the locality so you can be fresh for your LBL session. Afterwards you may feel a bit disorientated or light headed for an hour or two, but generally you will be safe to drive and complete your journery. It is vital that you eat well after your session to replace lost energy and bring you down to earth and back into your body.

What to expect from your LBL session

LBL work should be considered as a once in a life time journey, (although it is possible to have more than one LBL session in a life!) the most profound and life changing experience we can have while in an earthly body. The most important thing to consider is that this is an experience that should be planned and properly prepared for. Each therapist listed on this site will employ their own favourite and most appropriate method of preparation for their client. This will be individual and based on what you need to ensure that you have the most successful and uplifting experience and that you get all of your important questions answered.

Expect to set aside a whole day for your session, it is unwise to plan any other activities. You will need to be calm and relaxed when you arrive and will want to maintain that feeling when you leave.

Your therapist will explain the session to you and employ specific techniques to help you to relax and to begin to move toawrds a state where you can begin the hypnotic process easily. The skill of the therapist is to make clients feel at ease. All questions and doubts should be brought up during the pretalk, it is our job to assist you to get the most out of your session. Unanswered questions tend to niggle.

Expect your hypnosis and trancework to feel very pleasurable and very uplifting. Trance is a state where the body frequently feels anaesthesia and euphoria, although not always. You will probably be familiar with trancework as part of your preparation programme.

Expect your LBL in trance to last around three to four hours, sometimes more. Your therapist will be checking constantly to see how tired you are or whether there is any more useful information to be had and will use their judgement as to when to draw your LBL journey to a close.

Expect to have a unique experience that is relevant to you. All LBL sessions vary enormously but one thing is always clear, the session is for the client and the client will get exactly what they need. Therapists are often aware of a client's guide or guides driving the process or indeed blocking some parts of it. Be assured it is designed for you alone and to assist you in continuing your earthly life with purpose, meaning and renewed vigour!

Expect to pay the daily rate of your therapist, depending on their location, experience and their practice costs. Some therapists will include a Past Life Regression in their package or charge separately for this. Please feel free to ask the costs at the outset, some therapist's web pages show their charges. Again, it is a very individual matter.
