Dr Caroline McGee

Caroline is a psychologist and clinical hypnotherapist based in Harley Street and Hertford.

Caroline has spent many years carrying out research and working directly with survivors of abuse, both adults and children.  She is a published author and international speaker. Her book Childhood Experiences of Domestic Violence was hailed as “essential reading” for anyone wishing to understand domestic violence. She has also written numerous articles and contributed book chapters on social work practice, research and violence against women and children. She is currently working on her next book examining women’s survival in rape situations.

Her emphasis in both practice and research has been on the resilience on those surviving traumatic incidents. Since qualifying as a hypnotherapist, Caroline has combined her previous interests with a general hypnotherapy practice in Harley Street and Hertford. She is also particularly interested in weight management, anxiety disorders, phobias, hypnofertility, hypnobirthing and working with children.

Qualifications:
B.A. (Hons), PhD, DCH (Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis) DHP (Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy).  EFT-CC (Emotional Freedom Technique certificate of completion) Hypnofertility therapist. Caroline is a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and has been approved as meeting the criteria of the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council.

Caroline trained in March 2006 with Dr Michael Newton and his team to qualify in Life Between Lives Hypnotherapy.

By Rail: The Hertford practice is a few minutes walk from Hertford North rail station which is  approximately 40 mins from King’s Cross station in London. Hertford East train station is a few minutes drive from the Hertford practice and links to London’s Liverpool Street Station.

By Car: Hertford is accessible via the A1/M1, A10 and M25 motorways.
Airports: Hertford is approximately half an hour (by car) from both Luton and Stansted airports and one hour from Heathrow and one and a half hours from both Gatwick and Birmingham airports.


The Harley Street practice (10 Harley Street, London W1G 9PF)  is close to Oxford Circus and Regent's Park and Great Portland Street underground stations in Central London. 10 Harley Street is just a few minutes walk from the shopping areas of Oxford Street and Regent's Street.

By Bus: The following buses stop outside John Lewis, Oxford Street (just a few minutes walk away): 6, 8, 13, 15, 23, 73, 135, 137, 139 & 189

By Rail: The nearest tube stations are Bond Street (Central and Jubilee Line) and Oxford Circus (Victoria, Bakerloo and Central Line). Both are only a short walk away.

By Car: Short-term meter parking in surrounding streets and long-term car parking at NCP car parks in Cavendish Square and at the rear of Harley Street is available.

Airports: Harley Street can be reached by train and taxi in approximately 45 mins from Gatwick  Heathrow and London City airports.
